■ HERNE Bay held visitors Lancing off in a game that came alive early on, with two goals inside two minutes.
Sam German fired in a shot into the area from 35 yards, where Michael Salako’s deft touch gave Bay the early lead. Mo Kamara then robbed Meeres of the ball, sliding through for Gil Carvahlo to slot home.
The visitors were gifted a goal in the first minute of added time when a defensive mix up allowed Lukas Franzen-Jones to score.
