■FORMER FA Vase finalists West Auckland Town were on the end of a shock when they crashed out 6-5 on penalties at home to Northern League second division side Newcastle University.
West, twice losing finalists at Wembley, were behind after just seven minutes when a cheeky back heel from Joel Manning found the back of the net. The hosts equalised four minutes before the break when Will Constantin chested home a Lee Hume cross.
