MARGATE came away as worthy victors from this clash after putting in an impressive display to overcome Lewes.
The Rooks had the first real chance of this encounter when a speculative shot from a full 30 yards out cannoned over the crossbar in the 10th minute.
With Rohdell Gordon causing the visitors no end of problems with his fleeting runs, Gate were in charge and took full control in the 25th minute from a Ben Greenhalgh corner, Tyrone Sterling powerfully heading home at the far post.
