PHOENIX Sports picked up their first home win of the season with a narrow victory against Horndean.
The hosts started the brighter but dangerous balls into the box by Ryan Hayes were never pounced upon.
At the other end, Zackary Willett was a danger and was unfortunate not to score when his goal-bound effort was headed off the line by Ryan Sawyer. The only goal of the game came in the 40th minute. Hayes swung in a corner and Jaevon Dyer’s header crept inside a post.
