■ ASHFORD United celebrated their return to The Homelands with a win. The first half-hour was uneventful with both finding the conditions difficult. The first meaningful attempt was by Burgess Hill when a Mo Jammett header went narrowly wide.
Ashford took the lead just before half-time. Persistent Vance Bola work was capitalised on when he found the right-hand corner of the net. Burgess Hill could have scored just after the break.
