THE DANIELS made it a happy return to Hitchin’s Top Field, having eliminated Hitchin from the FA Trophy in an earlier match.
The away side made all the early running, sending out red flag warnings with probing attacks Tendai Chitiza used his pace to exploit weaknesses in the Hitchin defence.
The consistent pressure on the Hitchin defence was bound to tell, and it did.
Hitchin were hit on the counter on 26 minutes. Lee Shaw’s shot struck the underside of the bar and bounced out, but it had clearly crossed the line.
