■ NEWTON AYCLIFFE’S encounter with Bridlington Town was the proverbial game of two halves.
The first half did see some goalmouth action, but neither Nathan Fisher or James Hitchcock were truly challenged.
The second half remained an even contest, but it seemed both sides were edging closer to finding a goal, and in the 70th minute Lewis Dennison hit a sweet strike to make it 1-0 to the away side.
Aycliffe were steadfast however, and in the 88th minute after a plethora of corners, Jake Petitjean found the ball in a crowded box and finished ...
