GOALS from Jamie Salmon and Elliott Ronto sent Canvey Island back to Essex with the points.
The visitors started the game the quicker with a few chances, one of which in the tenth minute and drew a great save from Charlie Grainger, who tipped the ball around the post.
The 12th minute saw Hastings’ first shot from TT Walters.
Seven minutes later, United hit Canvey on the break with John Ufuah getting into the box and then going down but the referee waved away their penalty appeals.
