CARLTON Town ran out winners at the Home of Football Stadium, in a dour match with very little in the way of entertainment.
Sheffield had the odds stacked against them early on as midfielder Harry Mitchell picked up two yellow cards in five minutes, putting the hosts down to ten men after 18 minutes.
Club went close at the start of the second half, with Rory Coleman striking the crossbar from a free-kick while Johnson had a decent effort blocked by Felix Annan.
