CHERTSEY Town returned to the top of the table by overcoming the Raynes Park Vale challenge with a performance that prevented their opponents from troubling goalkeeper Nick Jupp.
The exception was the equalising spot-kick by Palace Francis in the first half.
A superb attacking movement after 25 minutes ended with Gianluca Botti sweeping the ball home to give the hosts the advantage.
