BRIGHOUSE TOWN moved to the top of the Baris Northern Counties East Premier Division in midweek and cemented that position with a 2-0 win at Staveley Miners Welfare.

Ryan Hall gave Town a 22nd minute lead and Nick Jaggar made the game safe two minutes after the break.

Matt Plummer and Tony Hackworth were on target as second-placed Scarborough Athletic beat  Pickering Town 2-1. Joe Danby replied for Town.

Stuart Rice came on as a substitute for Tadcaster Albion and made a massive impact against former club Bridlington Town, scoring the winner 20 minutes from time to dent the Seasiders’ title ambitions.

Retford United’s hopes of a late charge to retain their title suffered a massive blow as they  surrendered a two-goal lead to lose 3-2 at Armthorpe Welfare. Brett Lucas scored in the opening two minutes, but later put through his own net to hand Welfare all three points.

Worksop Parramore won 4-3 at home to ten-man Long Eaton, bottom club Arnold enjoyed a welcome 3-2 win at home to Glasshoughton Welfare and Lincoln Moorlands Railway came from behind to beat Winterton Rangers 3-1.
