CHESHAM maintained their four-point lead at the top of the table with a fine win over a Walton side who lost ground in the play-off race.
The Generals set themselves on the path to victory with a third-minute goal, Lewis Rolfe scoring after a corner routine caused a scramble in the visitors’ area.
Walton had plenty of the ball in the first half, particularly through the probing runs of Trae Cook-Appiah on the left, but there was little end product.
