DRAW SEES VISITORS LOSE GRIP ON SECOND

SOL Solomon scored his first goal of 2024 to save a point for second-placed Marine, but mid-table Ilkeston Town certainly made them work for it.
Ilkeston defensive midfielder Callum Minkley had an effort kicked off the line while Thomas Marshall’s free-kick hit a post late on, though a share of the spoils felt fair over 90 minutes.
The hosts broke the deadlock just before the half-hour mark, when top goalscorer Jamie Walker had a shot saved after L’Varn Brandy’s run - only for Thomas Cursons to slot home the rebound.
