■ A SUPERB strike from Matt Vigor was enough to give Cray Valley the points and keep up the pressure on Ramsgate at the top of the table.
It was dogged defensive play from Merstham that helped,despite being depleted due to injury. Cray dominated from the start, but created very little.
Merstham keeper Endo Johnson had a quiet first half, but in the second he made a string of classy saves to frustrate the visitors. The breakthrough came in the 63rd minute when Vigor picked up the ball on the edge of the box and rifled a shot past Johnson.
