PRESCOT Cables’ promotion hopes took a massive hit at Newcastle Town as the home side eased to a comfortable win to revive their own playoffs hopes.
An outstanding strike from Tom Jones at the midway point of the first half and second-half goals from Jake Twyford and the hard-working Jake Avery – his fourth goal in four games – sealed the win.
There was also a fine goalkeeping performance from Joe Slinn gave the home time an unexpectedly comfortable win.
