In their last league match, on Tuesday, Maidenhead lost to Halifax Town 2-1 away, with their goal scored by Tobi Sho-Silva.

Oldham won, 2-1 at home against Boreham Wood, with Joe Garner and Karl Mike Fondop-Talum on the scoresheet.

Maidenhead are nine places behind Athletic in 15th, with nine wins and 12 draws putting them on 39 points.

With 33 goals in 33 games so far this season, United are the league’s third-lowest scorers with 1.0 goals per game. But they are conceding fewer than average too, letting in 41 goals at a rate of 1.2 per game.

The Latics, meanwhile, are average scorers, with 1.5 goals per game. They have conceded 1.3 goals per game.

The hosts are in mixed form in the National League, with two wins and a draw from their last six games.

With four wins and a draw over that period, the away side’s form is much better – they have taken 13 points from 18, compared to Maidenhead’s seven.

In the last three years, Maidenhead and Oldham have played each other on three occasions. Oldham won one of them and they drew the other.

Their last meeting was on October 3, when they played out a 1-1 draw.
