Match Preview: Lancaster City v Workington (Saturday, 3pm)

Lancaster City host Workington at Giant Axe on Saturday on the back of three consecutive wins in the Northern Premier League.

Lancaster have picked up 12 points from their last six games, and they face a Workington side who have lost their last two matches, and collected three points from the last possible 18.

With 42 goals in 28 games so far this season, Lancaster are scoring at below the league average rate with 1.5 goals per game. But they are conceding fewer than average too, letting in 39 goals at a rate of 1.4 per game.

Workington, meanwhile, are above average scorers, with 1.8 goals per game, compared to a league average of 1.7. They have conceded 2.1 goals per game.

The visitors are 16th in the table after 30 games, of which they have won eight and drawn 10, earning 34 points.

City are six places ahead of Workington in 10th, with 13 wins and six draws putting them on 45 points.

Lancaster’s last match was on February 10, a 3-2 win against Ilkeston Town.

Workington lost 2-0 against Bradford Park Avenue last time out, also on February 10.
