A JOHNNY Johnston penalty maintained Redditch United’s promotion charge after coming through a tough test.
Despite the vast difference in league position, Berkhamsted started brightly and had the game’s opening chance on 18 minutes.
A corner was met by Dan Newton, whose header forced a fine flying save from home keeper Adam Harrison.
