BELPER strengthened their position at the top of the pack chasing leaders Stockton, but were made to fight all the way by play-off hopefuls Consett. The home side started brightly and could have been three up inside 20 minutes. Belper keeper Daniel Moore saved twice in as many minutes from Ben Ramsey.
Then top scorer Wil Shaw hit a post from close range with the goal at his mercy.
Moore thwarted Ramsey again after 52 minutes, clawing away his header, then made an even better save from Jake Orrell.
