■ AYCLIFFE moved to within a point of the play-off places with a win over Brighouse Town.
The first goal came the way of the home side after 15 minutes when Kyle Davis drilled a shot into the net which ricocheted off a defender.
Newton Aycliffe could have been 3-0 up had Ciaren Jackson and Liam Jarvie not missed from close range early in the first half.
It looked as though the game had been put to bed in the second half when Davis got his brace after 49 minutes, a wonderful chip that took Brighouse’s Jamie Hassall by surprise.
