Match Preview: Hungerford Town v Sholing (Saturday, 3pm)

Hungerford Town are on a poor run ahead of hosting Sholing at Bulpit Lane on Saturday, with just four points collected from their last six games.

Hungerford have picked up one win and one draw in their last six Southern League Premier – South games, and face a Sholing side whose last six games have brought two wins and two draws.

With 35 goals in 29 games so far this season, Sholing are the league’s second-lowest scorers with 1.2 goals per game. But they are conceding fewer than average too, letting in 40 goals at a rate of 1.4 per game.

Hungerford, meanwhile, are above average scorers, with 1.9 goals per game, compared to a league average of 1.7. They have also conceded 1.9 goals per game.

Town are seventh in the table after 32 games, of which they have won 12 and drawn 10, earning 46 points.

The visitors are four places behind the home team in 11th, with 11 wins and seven draws putting them on 40 points.

Hungerford’s last match was on Tuesday, a 2-0 loss against Gosport Borough.

Sholing lost 1-0 against Chesham United last time out, on February 17.
