ASHFORD United won this encounter in a match that epitomised the old cliche of a “game of two halves”.
Horndean were the first to show when a fierce attempt from Freddie Chester was well saved by Ashford’s keeper. At the other end, Harvey Brand fired just over the crossbar following good work by Bradley Ryan.
Horndean broke the deadlock in the 29th minute when a mix-up in the Ashford defence allowed Chester in.
