PLAY-OFF chasing Lancaster extended their unbeaten league run to six games but were made to work hard for the victory by Basford. The opening chance fell to the visitors after 11 minutes when Rev James had a close range shot blocked. A good through ball from Jamie Mellen almost set Lancaster’s Dom Lawson free on goal but Kieran Preston was alert to the danger and was quickly off his line to clear.
