Match Preview: Altrincham v Dorking Wanderers (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

Altrincham welcome Dorking Wanderers to the J. Davidson Stadium on late Tuesday looking to pick up points to end their five-game losing streak.

Altrincham’s struggles have left them with just three points from their last six National League matches, while their opponents have earned seven from a possible 18.

With 62 goals in 35 games so far this season, Altrincham are scoring more than average in the league with 1.8 goals per game. And they are conceding at an average rate, letting in 51 goals at a rate of 1.5 per game.

Dorking, meanwhile, are below average scorers, with 1.2 goals per game, compared to a league average of 1.5. They have conceded 1.7 goals per game.

Wanderers are 20th in the table after 35 games, of which they have won 12 and drawn five, earning 41 points.

Robins are 10 places ahead of the visitors in 10th, with 14 wins and 10 draws putting them on 52 points.

Over the last two years, Altrincham and Dorking have played each other twice. They won one each.

Their last meeting was on April 15, when Dorking won 3-2 at home.

Altrincham’s last match was on Saturday, a 3-1 loss against Dagenham and Redbridge, with Regan Linney getting the goal for Robins.

Dorking beat Chesterfield 4-1 last time out, also on Saturday, with Alfie Rutherford (two), Daniel Pybus and Tom Blair on the scoresheet.
