Match Preview: Sheffield FC v Grimsby Borough (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

Sheffield FC host Grimsby Borough on late Tuesday on the back of three consecutive wins in the Northern Premier League Division One East.

Sheffield FC have picked up 10 points from their last six games, and they face a Grimsby side who lost their last match, and have collected seven points from the last possible 18.

With 37 goals in 29 games so far this season, Grimsby are scoring at below the league average rate with 1.3 goals per game. But they are conceding fewer than average too, letting in 40 goals at a rate of 1.4 per game.

Sheffield FC, meanwhile, are above average scorers, with 1.7 goals per game, compared to a league average of 1.5. They have also conceded 1.7 goals per game.

The home team are 14th in the table after 23 games, of which they have won nine and drawn three, earning 30 points.

Borough are four places ahead of Sheffield FC in 10th, with 11 wins and four draws putting them on 37 points.

In the last three years, Sheffield FC and Grimsby have played each other on three occasions. Sheffield FC won one of them and Grimsby the other.

Their last meeting was on October 7, when Grimsby won 4-0 at home.

Sheffield FC’s last match was on February 17, a 2-1 win against Bridlington Town.

Grimsby lost 2-0 against Stockton Town last time out, on Saturday.
