GOALS from Jack McGowan and Brendan O’Brien ensured a return to winning ways for Widnes at home to ten-man Trafford.
McGowan opened the scoring with just five minutes on the clock when he capitalised on a disastrous error by goalkeeper Sam Booth.
Booth would recover to put in a man-of-the-match performance, making a number of fine saves to keep Trafford in the contest. Damola Sotona then received two yellow cards within seconds of each other, and was sent off eight minutes after the break.
