BATT’S THRILLER RESCUES A DRAW

JAKE Battersby’s screamer was the highlight of a draw between two of the teams battling for survival.
Coventry Sphinx scored early from the spot, Matty Shipman sweeping the ball past Kacper Kurylowicz having won the penalty in just the fourth minute.
The Lilywhites pegged the hosts back in spectacular fashion when Sphinx cleared a corner but Battersby, 30-yards out, produced a firsttime piledriver that clipped a post on the way in.
