OVER 2,300 supporters watched on as FC United extended the gap to the relegation places to 14 points with a satisfactory win over Basford United on Non-League Day.
Basford, who remain two points above the drop zone, threatened to score first in the 10th minute, when Revarnelle James was the beneficiary of a mistake in FC’s backline. However, James was denied by the feet of keeper George Murray-Jones.
