Match Preview: Ebbsfleet United v Southend United (Friday, 3pm)

Southend United face Ebbsfleet United on Friday seeking to protect their formidable unbeaten run in the National League.

The Shrimpers are unbeaten in 11, with five wins and six draws, ahead of the 3pm kick-off.

They face an Ebbsfleet team who have won six and drawn two over the same number of games.

With 55 goals in 39 games so far this season, Ebbsfleet are scoring at below the league average rate with 1.4 goals per game. And they are conceding more than average, letting in 66 goals at a rate of 1.7 per game.

Southend, meanwhile, are average scorers, with 1.5 goals per game. They have conceded 1.0 goal per game.

Ebbsfleet’s last match was on March 16, a 4-2 win against Gateshead, with Rakish Phillip Bingham (three) and Dominic Samuel getting the goals for Ebbsfleet.

Southend beat Solihull Moors 3-0 last time out, on Tuesday, with Oliver Coker (two) and Harry Cardwell on the scoresheet.
