Molesley’s exit stuns Hayes

Molesley’s exit
MAKING A STAND: Manager Mark Molesley has left Hayes & Yeading

MARK MOLESLEY has stepped down as manager of Hayes & Yeading – with relegation still very much a possibility.

The 43-year-old walked out on Thursday with the Middlesex club just one point above the Southern League Premier South drop zone with eight games remaining.

His departure has fuelled speculation linking him with a return to the manager’s job at Weymouth following Bobby Wilkinson’s exit just 24 hours earlier.

In a brief statement, United confirmed: “The club can confirm that Mark Molesley has resigned as first-team manager at Hayes & Yeading United, ahead of the Easter weekend games.

“The club have placed coaches Delroy Preddie and Peter Stanford in interim charge of team affairs.”

Molesley left Weymouth in August 2020 after guiding the Terras to back-to-back promotions into the National League.
