Match Preview: Oldham Athletic v Rochdale (Saturday, 11.30am)

Oldham Athletic face Rochdale at Boundary Park on Saturday lunchtime looking to secure a first win in eight National League games.

The Latics have lost three and drawn four matches since they last earned three points – against Eastleigh on February 27.

They face a Rochdale side who have won three and drawn two over that time.

In the last 10 years, Oldham and Rochdale have played each other on 12 occasions. Oldham won five of them, Rochdale three, and they drew four times.

On average, the Latics scored 1.4 goals and the Dale 0.9 in those matches.

Their last meeting was on October 21, when Oldham won 4-3 away.

With 58 goals in 42 games so far this season, Oldham are scoring at below the league average rate with 1.4 goals per game. But they are conceding fewer than average too, letting in 54 goals at a rate of 1.3 per game.

Rochdale, meanwhile, are average scorers, with 1.5 goals per game. They have also conceded 1.5 goals per game.

Athletic are 10th in the table after 42 games, of which they have won 15 and drawn 15, earning 60 points.

The Dale are one place behind the Latics in 11th, with 15 wins and 11 draws putting them on 56 points.

Oldham’s last match was on Monday, a 1-0 loss against Altrincham.

Rochdale drew 1-1 with Hartlepool United last time out, also on Monday, with Devante Rodney on the scoresheet.
