Northern Premier League West Division play-offs round-up

NPL Premier

Merseyside rivals Prescot Cables and City of Liverpool will meet in the Pitching In Northern Premier West play-off final.

A bumper crowd of 2,035 saw Prescot defeat near neighbours Bootle in Tuesday’s semi-final. Kyle Sambor’s goal in the first half of extra time was enough as the hosts’ third successive clean sheet helped them move one step closer to a return to Step 3 after 15 years away.

City of Liverpool, who went into Tuesday’s semi-final at Runcorn Linnets with one defeat in 14 since a 4-1 loss at home to Prescot in February, progressed thanks to Elliot Morris’ brace. They’ve not played in the Northern Premier League Premier Division in their history.

The final takes place at Prescot’s Joseph Russell Stadium on Saturday May 4, KO 3pm.
