NEW Walsall Wood defender Ash Carter is a leader and will be one of the best in the league, according to manager Ian Long.
And the Wood boss has further bolstered his squad by returning to former club Alvechurch to sign midfielder Jack Hallahan who will link up with Nick Clayton-Phillips and Jack Concannon who were also at Lye Meadow last season.
