WHEN Widnes FC proposed moving to a new home last year, their chairman said the motivation was for the football club to become more visible in a rugby league hotbed.
Hosting opponents at the Halton Stadium playing in front of crowds a couple of hundred strong in a space with a seated capacity north of 13,000, somewhat hides the club from view with their rugby league co-tenants, Widnes Vikings, grabbing all the attention.
“You’ll still find people living nearby who don’t know we’re here,” Ross told The NLP.
