ENGLAND striker Ollie Watkins says he will always be grateful to the role Weston-super-Mare played in his journey to the top.
Just before he turned 19, Watkins joined the Somerset club on loan from Exeter City.
He went on to score ten goals in 24 National League South games in the second half of the 2014-15 season and believes it played a big part in his development.
He went on to make his Exeter breakthrough soon after and moves to Brentford and Aston Villa followed, the latter a £28m switch in 2020.
