Gateshead have confirmed that Rob Elliot will be their permanent manager ahead of the 2024/25 season.
Elliot had been in interim charge since October 2023 following Mike Williamson’s departure for MK Dons.
He and assistant Louis Storey led the club to sixth in the National League, but they were banned from entering the play-offs after they failed to secure a 10-year lease at the International Stadium.
Gateshead won the Isuzu FA Trophy for the first time in their history last month, overcoming Solihull Moors on penalties after a 2-2 draw.
Elliot and Story have overseen 21 wins from 38 matches in charge in all competitions.
Club chairman Neil Pinkerton spoke positively of their appointments to the club’s official website:
“We’re delighted to finally banish the interim tag for Rob and Louis.
“It was always our intention to sit down at the end of the season and agree terms, which we have now successfully concluded.
“Rob, Louis and the entire team have been relentless in the off-season, so rest assured that we’re very well placed in terms of our on and off field recruitment plans.”
