PROMOTED Winslow United wasted no time getting settled into life in the Premier Division. A swift start resulted in a 2-1 win at Baldock Town with Jack Rowe sliding home before Ethan Flanagan’s header doubled the lead early on.
Fellow newcomers Wormley Rovers could not match that but still got a point, Josh Asiedu equalising in a 1-1 draw with Crawley Green.
The big winners on the opening day were Arlesey Town, whose first-half blitz inspired a 5-0 victory at Aylesbury Vale Dynamos.
