ROYSTON Town have paid homage to the town’s heritage in designing their new home shirt, inspired by the enigmatic Royston Cave.

The Southern Premier Central Crows say the unique shirt – to be worn by both the men’s and women’s teams – depicts the “captivating pattern” of the Kings Templar, found by accident within the historic Hertfordshire cave in 1792.

The club say the Nike-designed shirt, with its white base and grey pattern replicating the cave’s carvings, marks a local landmark steeped in mystery, sparking conversation and igniting curiosity about Royston’s rich heritage.

“It’s not just about looking good on the pitch, it’s about celebrating what makes Royston special,” said club chairman Steve Jackson at the unveiling.

“We believe this shirt will not only be a source of pride for our players and fans but also spark interest in the town’s fascinating history.”

Royston Cave manager Emma Shaw added: “We were thrilled when Royston Town FC approached us about the proposed shirt design.

“It is a wonderful way to celebrate the unique heritage of Royston Cave.

“We hope the shirts are popular with the players and fans alike and wish the teams every success in the upcoming season.”
