WOODS TO THE RESCUE AS SPARTANS MAKE POINT

A LATE equaliser from Michael Woods saw visitors Blyth Spartans resuce a point from an entertaining first day encounter at Hurst Cross.
It came on 86 minutes, just seven minutes after Jason Gilchrist had puts the hosts into the lead as the Robins turned arounthe game around after falling behind.
Newly relegated Spartans, now managed bvy former Newcastle winger Nobby Solano, moved ahead on 16 minutes as a quick interchange saw the ball fall to captain Nicky Deverdics who fired home from the edge of the area.
