TWO of last seasons promoted teams met on the opening weekend in what was also the first ever clash between the two sides.
In a closely fought game it was Stockton who came away with the victory with a hard working performance that saw them solidly defend an early lead given to them by Michael Sweet before clinching the win with a stoppage time breakaway through substitute Michael Fowler.
Leek squandered two good opportunities in the opening exchanges and were made to pay when Sweet was allowed to turn inside the area and fire a low shot...
