RICARDO Rees and Kane Simpson both scored hat-tricks as Merthyr Town opened their league campaign with a big win against Tiverton Town at Penydarren Park.
Rees opened the scoring in the 32nd minute before Simpson struck to give them a two-goal lead heading into the break.
The home side were relentless as Rees and Simpson both added two goals in the second half to complete the romp.
Alex John’s defence-splitting pass found Rees who rounded the keeper before sliding the ball home in the 32nd minute.
