DIAMONDS won this intense opening day clash with a Luke Emery rocket at Hayden Road.
After two horrible seasons manager Michael Harriman has turned this Diamonds side round and given real hope to the Rushden faithful. Diamonds edged possession and chances in the first half with Tejan Thomas coming closest, heading against the bar just on half-time.
The introduction of Fraser Corden at the break gave Diamonds a lift but it was another substitute Luke Emery who made the vital breakthrough. He fired home from an excellent corner just 30 sec...
