WELLINGBOROUGH Town started life at Step 4 with a gutsy single goal victory over newly-relegated Long Eaton.
A game with little to separate the sides and low on chances was decided with a wonder-strike.
George Barnell looked up from 35 yards out after 17 minutes and unleashed a shot into a top corner which Ben Allsop had no chance stopping.
