■ THIS entertaining match ended with Eastbourne’s first league win of the season after a real tussle at The Moatside.
Town striker James Ding ghosted in to head home Leon Grieg’s free-kick after 15 minutes, and Grieg himself doubled that lead a few minutes later.
Lee Lewis reduced the arrears for Merstham with a thunderous free-kick and Town keeper Chris Winterton twice denied Aidan Brown with big saves. But Ding headed in a corner to restore Town’s two-goal lead before the break.
