JUSTIN Johnson’s goal propelled Macclesfield to top spot after a hard fought win on Teesside.
Johnson struck with four minutes remaining in the first half in what proved to be the decisive action of the game.
Stockton ended the game with ten-men when captain Adam Nicholson was sent off with just over twenty minutes remaining.
The Anchors, who have made a strong start to life in the Northern Premier League Premier Division, were firmly up for it.
