MAX McCARTHY was yet again the hero for Congleton Town as they narrowly progressed.
McCarthy was at the heart of all things for Bears. He had the ball in the back of the net midway through the first half when he was played in. However, he was deemed just offside.
He should have broken the deadlock just before the break when he won a penalty but, he saw his kick from 12 yards out saved by Kyle Haslam.
