THEXTON POUNCES TO EARN A REPLAY

NEWTON Aycliffe’s tie with Warrington Rylands ended in a draw at Moore Lane. It was Aycliffe’s fourth consecutive 1-1 draw, and saw them take a second NPL Premier team to a replay.
The visitors took an early advantage. In the ninth minute, Ben Hardcastle converted for Rylands from the penalty spot. The home side looked for a way back into the game and they got it in the second half when Dean Thexton got onto a pass from Cieran Jackson and fired home in the 76th minute.
