TULIPS THWART DAY AND THE REDS

A GOALLESS draw was played out at the Sir Halley Stewart Field with hosts Spalding throwing their bodies at everything to keep Alfreton at bay.
Jake Day sent a couple of early headers wide for the Reds, as Alfreton started quickly. Max Hunt and Adam Lund both sent the ball goalwards, but the Tulips held firm against the Alfreton dominance.
Spalding began to find some rhythm in the second half with Jordan Nicholson seeing a free kick well saved on the hour mark and several dangerous balls cleared from the Alfreton area.
