MATLOCK Town finally secured their first win of the season as they came from behind with ten men to see off visitors Workington.
Neither side created anything of note in the first half, Matlock’s Joe West and Workington’s Steven Rigg seeing long-range strikes go high and wide respectively.
In the 28th minute Matlock were reduced to ten men when Sam Essien went in heavy on Tom Wilkinson, clearly winning the ball. Referee Jack Churchill, though, deemed it too dangerous and sent Essien off.
