URCHINS BEATEN TO ESSEX GLORY

CHELMSFORD overcame local rivals Hornchurch with a professional performance.
Ex-Urchin Charlie Ruff fed Kane Crichlow in the opening few minutes but the Clarets frontman was beaten to the ball by the onrushing Mason Terry, who smothered well.
At the other end, Nathan Green’s pass was met by Tom Wraight and his goalbound drive was straight into the gloves of Ted Collins.
Sam Oguntayo’s wide play led to a floating cross which had Terry backpedalling but he was able to claw the ball to safety.
